SSVF and HVRP Case Manager
Bryan Wilson serves as a SSVF and HVRP Case Manager for Yancey, Mitchell, McDowell, Allegany, Wilkes, Burke, Avery, Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe and Buncombe counties. As the son of a preacher man, his compassion for the homeless first developed when volunteering with his father at homeless shelters. After finishing his undergraduate studies in English at Appalachian State University, he was able to put his respect for differing cultures into further practice by teaching ESL in Guangzhou, China. Upon returning to the United States, he continued to enjoy teaching English in Charlotte and Asheville High Schools. He soon decided to pursue his Master's Degree in Counseling, which he completed at Western Carolina University. Bryan is now ecstatic about the opportunity to serve those that have served us while living in the WNC Mountains that feel like home. Bryan's grandfather and uncle both served our country in wars from which they carried significant wounding. He knows that there are resonant parts of serving our country in combat, and he strives to offer patience and hope to those whose service to our country cost them throughout their lives.
