Christy serves as an intake specialist for NCServes-Western assisting Veterans to connect with community providers in Western North Carolina. Christy was active duty enlisted in the Air Force 8 years followed by 8 years in the Reserve component as an ophthalmology technician. As a civilian ophthalmology technician Christy worked for both the Department of the Army and Veterans Healthcare Administration where she assisted service members, Veterans, and their family members with eye care needs. Christy’s time managing multiple eye clinics located on both Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, provided her with troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills. Christy holds an Associates Degree in Applied Science, as well as a Bachelors in Psychology from Argosy University. Christy will begin her graduate degree at Western Carolina University’s social work program in the fall of 2019.
